Insure.net, an independent insurance agency based in North Haven, Connecticut, announced it has acquired Stark Agency in Chester, Connecticut.
Founded in 2006, Insure.net has been mostly a personal lines agency, but the firm is now starting to grow its commercial lines business, said Robert Caldarella, a managing member of Insure.net. “We’ve been mostly personal lines but we are starting to grow our commercial lines business and this acquisition is a big part of that,” he said.
Founded in 1940, Stark Agency provides personal insurance including home, auto and life, as well as business insurance and employee benefits. Stark Agency’s five employees will continue to serve clients from their Chester office.
Insure.net said it will keep the Stark Agency name for its Chester location. “We are keeping the local presence, the local tradition that Stark has in the Chester community and the Connecticut River Valley community,” Caldarella said.
